25 March 2009 was my last day as a law student (hopefully). When I submitted my last academic requirement, everything just flashed in a couple of minutes. My feelings were ineffable, mixed emotions I guess. To have the last signature placed on our clearance, we had to have our I.D.s punched. And that single hole on my 4-year identification card served as a warning to me. I gotta say I was happy at the moment. After all the bad recitations, failing scores in midterms, and limited hours of going out, only one question remained unanswered: IS IT WORTH IT? I admit, until now, I regret that one absence in my first week in law school – the heck is that one-week Introduction to Law class! Four years I had to bear with the consequence of absenting once that 3-hour class!

Maybe I have not done my best in the law school but I want to bring that part in me, that person I knew who gets what she wants; who does anything and everything to earn that prize; now, I know. Now, I’m sure, I want to be a lawyer and I’m giving my 100% to the bar exams.

I hope.

We’ll see. =)

my mind is too much occupied right now. i am preparing for my thesis (which until now, i haven’t started), i am planning to earn and save more money this coming semester, i am looking for a part-time job (which my parents do not know), i am planning to start a small business (customized cards, scrap booking, etc.), i am moving in to a new room at the unit next to my former hub, i am trying to lose weight as much as i can, whewww!!! my summer seems to be filled with a lot of things i should have accomplished before the new academic year starts.

i have received two invitations both from my schoolmates in college. one was for a BOOK PROJECT which my former buddy in Ateneo Law School (who is now in UP Law) is spearheading and the other invitation was from my blockmates-orgmates in college for a summer get-away in subic (the original plan was in puerto galera).

i get disappointed when i fail to follow my schedule. multi-tasking has its banes and boons and until now, i haven’t mastered this craft…

but it’s not yet too late

Mini-Forum

Yesterday, a couple of candidates for next school year’s student council approached our labor professor and asked the latter’s permission for some minutes so that the two could campaign.

what i expected to be a 10-minute talk turned out to be a 35-minute mini-forum.

duh?! i was exhausted with the words but was not able to digest the substance. some people talk a lot and i bet you, some are really good oralists – words speak for them but at the end of the day, they don’t speak for the words.

A promise does not require too much effort but a sincere promise does.

A thousand of words may be said in two combinations - I DID. I DO. or in three – I WILL DO.

Quality over quantity is my creed.

A person of few words is most of the times a master of all.

street talk

At this time some of my classmates probably are on the streets. An hour from now, something significant to some of the people in this country might happen- significant not because this thing they call change will actually change the situation but significant in the sense that this is the perfect time to satisfy their lust for power.

Exactly a week ago I was in school, listening to the words of Jun Lozada, ”The Hottest Man in Town” until now and as I expected, classes still went on. Good thing that our professor allowed us to attend the talk. After the talk my classmate and I had a small talk on our own and I was so amazed that we had the same observation – few number of students were present. We do not know the reason behind such scenario but we are certain for one thing – our teachers were playing safe. Why didn’t they declare a freecut? Granting that there was no memo from the Dean’s Office, they should have allowed their students to attend the talk. After all, that does not mean that the presence in the CHICKA CHICKA with LOZADA is a pro-GMA Resign Movement. Allowing the students to attend is not the end – it is only the means of how we as FILIPINO CITIZENS can weigh things, hear the issues of both sides, and finally make our own decisions.

I am not on the streets not because I don’t want change in this country. I am here because I do not want to be absorbed later by the system that I want to change.
